When the Sony NEX-FS700 was announced, 4K support was promised sometime in the future. The camera is now shipping, but it still hasn’t been explained exactly when 4K support will be available, and what it will cost, or what hardware will be required. As recently as two weeks ago, Sony reps were still vague on the cost details, though they did say that more information would be available shortly.

The silver lining is that we’ve hired an additional hardware guy, and two more software guys to work in house, so from now on we won’t be using any outside contractors for our engineering work. This video is a color graded clip from the new GoPro HERO3 camera. It was shot at 2.7K resolution, 23.98 fps and graded from a Cineform .mov file on a Baselight. That file was exported as a ProRes HQ file and encoded in Sorenson Squeeze using a modified WebM preset. The original resolution of the clip is viewable by choosing Original from the YouTube quality menu.
